Biography<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When people meet me now they find it hard to believe that I used to be a shy child and teenager that lacked confidence, but it has taken the passing of time, many false starts and all the experience that comes with that, to bring me to a time and place where I have belief in my artistic abilities. I am now able to put all my energy and focus into being a full time artist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

My reasons for producing the works I do is because I have something to say, something I want to inform people about. Most of those things come from my own personal experiences and as such are mostly about issues that concern women and children. Past work has looked at how motherhood has been represented in painting, the commodification of children through International adoption, and the cyclic nature of the care system. I am currently working on a series of drawings and paintings that represent how \u201cwomen of a certain age\u201d are perceived in society and what has changed for them post 50. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The use of textiles has always played a prominent part in my work, often in the form of altered clothes, as I feel this reflects the domestic, but I am continually expanding my technical abilities to have the appropriate arsenal of skills at my disposal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
